The Terminal of Choice For both container and breakbulk shipments, California United Terminals (CUT) in the Port of Long Beach, California is the terminal of choice for shippers, consignees, and ocean carriers. Over the years, CUT has developed a coast-wide reputation for quick, efficient turn-around of cargo and an unparalleled level of hassle-free customer service. It's just this simple: for a multi-dimensional "omni" terminal, there is none better. It's easy to see why. It all starts with our location. CUT is strategically located on Piers D &E, directly across from southern end of the Long Beach Freeway. That means you get the quickest possible transit connection to all of Southern California and beyond. Nearby is the Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF), the world's largest, for convenient direct-rail access to major market centers throughout the nation. And Foreign Trade Zone No. 50 is also freeway close, so you get duty-free, secure warehousing and distribution of your import cargo. But that's only the beginning. CUT has an impressive history in cargo handling, dating back to 1920. In all that time, CUT has consistently exceeded customer requirements. We stand to serve you, with the farthest reaching, most comprehensive capabilities in the port.
A Wide Range of Capabilities and Services On our 130-acre, 17-berth facility, you'll find the latest in cost-effective, advanced cargo-handling technology and equipment. Our five Paceco gantry cranes, each with a capacity of 40 long tons, are complemented by a well-maintained fleet of transtainers, sideloaders, and tophandlers. We're strong in containers, with the ability to work up to three containerships at a time. Our significant storage space for stacked containers and containers on chassis includes electrical capabilities for the storage of 390 refrigerated containers at a time. And as a multi-purpose "omni" facility, we're experts at handling a wide variey of breakbulk shipments, including:
All of our cargo-handling operations – along with the terminal's gate entry/exit, documentation, maintenance, and administrative functions – are controlled by our advanced computer system. This state-of-the-art system provides customer shipping lines and agents with up-to-the-minute data on the status of their vessels and cargo availability. Our direct link with the U.S. Customs Service Automated Manifest System (AMS) gives customs brokers and consignees rapid, secure clearance for delivery of their cargo. And our Automated Voice Response System lets shippers and consignees keep track of cargo availability around the clock. Even with the latest in technology and equipment, it's our people who truly make the difference. The expertise and knowledge gained over the years in handling a wide variety of cargo enables us to react quickly, provide responsive customer service, and offer the widest array of customized ocean terminal services. That is what has allowed us to keep pace with the ever changing requirements of our customers. | |||||||||||
